From The Jewel Box # 17

We got back from the Witnesses Now For Jesus Convention last night and are taking some of the day off to spend with the kids. I took the dog for a walk this morning and the kids came along. Our son wanted to be like Daddy so he put on a hat too. He decided to get silly so he put the hat on sideways. Our daughter laughed and told him that he looked cute. His reply was,
"That's just the way God made me, thanks!"

Our son recently had a hammer in his hand and said, "If you were to hit yourself in the chest with this hammer, you would be dead for the rest of your life!"

From The Jewel Box # 15

We've been getting a lot of rain here in Texas recently and the mosquito's are loving it. Last week we spent some time in the back yard and got bit up pretty bad. When the kids get bug bites, Becky some times puts calamine lotion on them to help take the "sting" out. Once we got back into the house, our son asked for the "mosquito bite feeling better stuff."

The kids and I were doing some weeding in our yard recently when I found a small bird egg under the big tree in our front yard. I asked the kids, "Guess what this fell out of." Our son said, "A bird."

One day our family was sitting on our son's bed after getting the kids up from their naps and we were playing around being silly. Our son made this interesting sorting sound so I copied it. We both sounded like pigs, but it was pretty funny. In the past, our daughter has accidentally snorted while she laughs so I asked her if she could snort too. Her reply was, "Mommy doesn't like me to snort because she said it isn't very ladyable."

One of the things our kids always pray for is their Uncle Kimo who is currently serving the Army in his second tour in Iraq. If Mommy or Daddy forgets, the kids will always remind us to pray that Uncle Kimo is safe and comes home soon. Whenever we see soldiers, the kids get excited because they remind them of their uncle. They will run up to them and tell them that their uncle is in Iraq and that they always pray for him. Every solider we have talked to appreciates the thoughtfulness of our kids. This jewel was inspired by Uncle Kimo.

Yesterday our son put a little wooden stool on his head like it was a helmet. He then stated that he was a soldier in the "Army of Uncle Kimo."

Our 3 1/2 year old son was counting by fives on his fingers. When he stopped at 25, our daughter then said, "Thirty." Our son looked back down at his fingers and said, "I don't got thirty."

The other night at the dinner table, our five year old daughter said;
"I think I know how to spell DVD. D-V-D. I might be able to
write it too."

I couldn't help but laugh. Some day she'll realize the phone number for 911.

My brother came to visit and our son asked if Uncle Steve was coming to live in "San-i-o to-do." That is how he use to pronounce "San Antonio."
